Abstract
The tourism, since it means the physical movement of people from one place to another different from their residential area, suppose the contact between people with different social and cultural background. As a result of this connection, the local population and the destination suffer a set of positive and negative changes. The aim of this articles is to analyse these social and cultural impacts using the destination lifecycle theory and show the future tendencies related to strategic management of those destinations searching their sustainability.
