A number of activities and projects are run by the European Commission in the tourism field, such as the EDEN (European Destinations of Excellence), Sustainable Cycling Tourism and "Calypso" preparatory actions. The Commission also organices a number of events to improve the interface between and with the European tourism stakeholders, the main ones being the European Tourism Forum and European Tourism Day.
