Oportunidades en ecología del turismo. La red de Paradores como caso de estudio de teleacoplamiento entre campo y ciudad

Resumen

En este artículo se aplica la ciencia de los sistemas complejos para analizar el papel de Paradores Nacionales de Turismo como posible agente de transición hacia un turismo regenerativo. Aplicando el marco conceptual de los sistemas humanos y naturales acoplados (CHANS) y el ciclo adaptativo se examina la incidencia de esta red hotelera pública en territorios rurales y naturales. El análisis pone
de manifiesto que ciertas características de la oferta turística de Paradores, favorecen el cuidado del territorio y la resiliencia comunitaria. No obstante, en otras circunstancias, contribuirían a procesos de desarticulación de los sistemas territoriales en los que se insertan. Considerando la naturaleza pública de Paradores y su misión como referente de la cultura turística, se argumenta la necesidad de reforzar su capacidad de agencia mediante tres líneas de actuación: propiciar un turismo consciente, fomentar prácticas que contribuyan a la gobernanza local e impulsar una transformación de las infraestructuras y de los sistemas de movilidad asociados al viaje, orientada a minimizar el consumo energético y los impactos culturales y ecológicos. Se concluye que Paradores dispone de potencial para desempeñar un papel relevante en la transición hacia modelos de turismo más conscientes y regenerativos en el medio rural y natural.
